Itinerary (Day Wise)

Begin your sacred journey from Haridwar to Barkot, a peaceful hill town surrounded by the Himalayas. On Day 2, travel to Jankichatti and trek 6 km to seek blessings at the Yamunotri Temple, the origin of the River Yamuna. Return to Barkot and continue your journey to Uttarkashi, the gateway to Gangotri. On Day 4, drive through the scenic Bhagirathi valley to visit the divine Gangotri Temple, birthplace of River Ganga, and return to Uttarkashi. Finally, conclude the pilgrimage with a serene drive back to Haridwar, spiritually enriched by the blessings of both rivers.

Day 1

Haridwar – Mussoorie – Barkot (Approx. 115 Km)

Route: Haridwar – Mussoorie – Kempty Fall – Yamuna Bridge – Barkot


Optional Detour: Lakhamandal (Ancient Shiva Temple)


After breakfast, drive from Haridwar to Mussoorie, enjoying scenic mountain views. Take a refreshing break at Kempty Fall, a popular spot for photos. Continue through Mussoorie toward Yamuna Bridge, a peaceful stretch with deep valleys, forests, and river views. If time permits, visit Lakhamandal, an ancient Shiva temple linked to the Mahabharata. By evening, arrive at Barkot, check into your hotel, relax, and prepare for the next day’s journey.

Route: Barkot – Syana Chatti – Hanuman Chatti – Phool Chatti – Jankichatti – Yamunotri


Trek: Jankichatti - Yamunotri (6 km one-way)


After breakfast, drive from Barkot to Jankichatti, stopping briefly at Syana Chatti for forest views, Hanuman Chatti for the river confluence, and Phool Chatti for calm village scenery. From Jankichatti, begin the 6 km trek to Yamunotri (pony/palki/doli available). At the top, visit Surya Kund, offer prayers at Divyashila, and take darshan at Yamunotri Temple. After your rituals, trek back to Jankichatti and return to Barkot for dinner and rest.

Proceed to Harsil, a scenic valley known for apple orchards, pine forests, and riverside views. On reaching Gangotri, take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River, visit Surya Kund, see the submerged Shivling, and offer prayers at Gangotri Dham. After darshan, drive back to Uttarkashi and relax at your hotel after a spiritually enriching day.

After breakfast, drive from Uttarkashi toward Haridwar/Rishikesh via the scenic Chamba route, enjoying Himalayan views, deep valleys, and peaceful mountain roads. Continue through forested stretches and hillside villages as you descend toward the plains. By late afternoon or evening, reach Haridwar, where the Yamunotri–Gangotri journey concludes with a drop at your preferred location.
