Day 1

Delhi – Manali (540 km | 12–14 hrs)

Route: Delhi – Ambala – Bilaspur – Sundar Nagar – Mandi – Manali

Early morning pick-up from Delhi airport/railway station/residence and begin your long yet beautiful journey towards Manali. Drive comfortably through the northern plains via Ambala, gradually entering Himachal Pradesh near Bilaspur. Stop for breakfast and tea at a clean highway restaurant before the terrain slowly begins to change.

Post-lunch, the journey becomes increasingly scenic as you drive through Sundar Nagar and Mandi, following the Beas River with lush green hills on both sides. Enjoy winding mountain roads, small villages, and refreshing river views as the air turns cooler. By late afternoon, continue the uphill drive through pine forests and apple orchards, reaching Manali by evening. Check in to your hotel, relax after the long drive, and enjoy a warm dinner.

After a relaxed breakfast, start a full-day family exploration of Manali and the stunning Solang Valley. Begin with the peaceful cedar-forested Hadimba Temple, then visit Vashisht for a quick dip in natural hot springs. Route: Manali → Palchan → Gulaba → Marhi → Rohtang Pass (13,058 ft) → Return same way → Manali (Best May–June & Sept–Nov for guaranteed snow activities; permit required)

After early breakfast (6:00–6:30 am), depart from the hotel in a private cab. Drive along the beautiful left-bank road past apple orchards and Vashisht. Reach Gulaba check-post (first snow point in summer). Continue climbing to Marhi for tea and stunning views of the Beas valley. Final ascent to Rohtang Pass – enjoy snow walls, glaciers, and 360° mountain vistas. Spend 2–3 hrs in the snow with family activities. Return by 3–4 pm to avoid traffic. Evening free for Mall Road stroll or hotel bonfire. Overnight stay in Manali.

Manali → Delhi (540 km | 12–14 hrs)

Route: Manali – Kullu (Local Exploration) – Aut Tunnel – Hanogi Mata Temple – Pandoh Dam – Sundar Nagar Lake – Bilaspur – Delhi

After an early breakfast and checkout from the Manali hotel, begin your return journey towards Delhi with scenic halts across the beautiful Kullu & Mandi districts. Drive along the Beas River to Kullu town, where you’ll enjoy a short local exploration. Visit the revered Kullu Vaishno Devi Temple, built in 1966 by Swami Sewak Das Ji Maharaj, a peaceful spiritual stop surrounded by hills. Continue to the famous Kullu shawl factories for a live demonstration of traditional hand-woven woollen shawls, an excellent cultural experience for families.

Post Kullu, drive through the impressive Aut Tunnel, marking the transition from the Kullu Valley to the Mandi region. Stop at the dramatic Hanogi Mata Temple, perched high above the Beas River—ring the bells and enjoy the river valley views. Continue towards Pandoh Dam, an embankment dam on the Beas River, where powerful water flow and mountain backdrops make for a memorable photo stop.
