Depart from your preferred city, Dehradun/Haridwar, toward Chopta. Drive along the beautiful Ganga & Alakanda Valleys, enjoy the scenic views of Devprayag (confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi). En route to the Dhari Devi temple near Srinagar. Witness the confluence of the Alaknanda & Mandakini rivers by driving through Rudraprayag. If time allows, visit the Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath, its winter seat of Kedarnath Ji Mahadev. Then again, drive to Chopta, check into the Hotel/Homestay/Camp. Post breakfast, start the Tungnath trek through dense forest and enticing meadows. It is a 3.5 Km trek. Tungnath is situated at a height of 3680 m above sea level. After resting for a while, you can head for (moonstone) Chandrashilla peak, which is 1.5 km ahead. The summit offers a 360-degree view of the surroundings & magnificent wide snow-capped Himalayan views of Nanda Devi Peak, Trishul Peak, Chaukhambha, and Kedar Dome. Can have a leisurely short village walk to see traditional Garhwali homes & forest trails for birdwatching. Return into camp/h/resort and can enjoy stargazing at night as Chopta is known for clear skies. Overnight stay. (Breakfast & Dinner included)
