Auli Honeymoon

Upon arrival at Dehradun, meet our representative/driver at Dehradun airport/railway station & drive towards Auli via Rishikesh & four sacred confluences, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag. Visit and pay your homage at the Dhari Devi Temple at Srinagar. Then again, continue your scenic drive to Auli, upon arrival, check into the Hotel/Homestay/Camp. Overnight stay. (Dinner included)

Experiences:

Food: In this journey,y you will be exploring the Garhwal sector of Uttarakhand. To understand the culture, you have to dive deep into the authentic flavours of Garhwal to make this journey memorable. En route, try a traditional and authentic Garhwali Thali: Mandua ki Roti, Aloo ke Gutke, Phaanu. “Garhwali Rasoi” serves one of the most delicious and authentic Garhwali Thalis. Dubuk (slow-cooked horse-gram curry) with Bhaang ki Chutney, Bhatt ki Churkani (black soybean curry) at Tapovan Resort, Pipalkoti.

Shopping: On the way, you will be visiting small towns like Srinagar & Rudraprayag, and visiting local markets for a quick shopping. You can try to look for:

• Wooden artefacts, Hand-woven woollens, and Shawls by the local artisans.
• Buy locally carved wooden idols, bowls, or handcrafted walking sticks & decoratives.

Activities:

• Scenic drive through the four sacred confluences: Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag.
• Short break at Dhari Temple near Srinagar.
• Visit at Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath.
• Evening tea in a scenic spot, snacks in a naturally captivating setting. Before reaching Auli.

After breakfast, proceed to experience the chair car ride and enjoy the panoramic views of Nanda Devi Peaks, Hathi Parvat & Gauri Parbat. Later, the journey resumes, followed by a visit to Sweet Water Lake (Auli Artificial Lake). Later embark on an exciting experience of skiing session, snowboarding, snow camping & snow trekking if visiting in the winter season (optional at extra cost during winter). Return to the hotel for an overnight stay. (Breakfast & Dinner included).

Experiences:

Food: On your Second day, try more. Delicious Garhwali Cuisine. Must try Chainsoo, Garhwali Raita, Jhangore ki Kheer (local millet dessert) at nearby famous restaurants. While trekking, you could have Hot Maggie & Momos for snacks on Slopeside stalls. Try batatey kakdi (boiled potato with spices) or a spicy Dal Bhaat at local restaurants (e.g. Blackberry Cottages) 

Shopping: 

• Local shops at Auli & Joshimath: Famous for their Hand Woven Woollens, Caps, Shawls, woollen socks, mufflers.
• Local Himalayan Products: Joshimath Market is famous for its authentic and natural Himalayan herbs & spices.
• Handicrafts & Artifacts: Hand-made Wooden Idols, artifacts, Paintings, and bamboo products are popular buys.

Activities:

• Chair car ride (less strain than trekking) with panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Hathi Parvat, and Gauri Parbat.
• Gentle walk to Auli Artificial Lake for sunset 360° Himalayan view.
• Detour: A slight side-trip to Tapovan Hot Springs (14 km from Joshimath) is a relaxing break. These natural warm springs are famed for their medicinal waters and mountain views. (Optional)
• Detour/Scenic Spot: In the afternoon, drive (or trek) 4 km to Chenab Lake (Joshimath-Dang village). This tranquil alpine lake offers 360° views – perfect for sunset photos. (Optional)
• Romantic Moment: In the evening, enjoy a chai break at a roadside stall overlooking the pine forests
• Winter snow activities: skiing, snowboarding, camping, or simply watching others if you prefer not to participate.
• Evening bonfire with local folk music or candlelight dinner at the resort.

Post breakfast, proceed for a short trek to Gurson Bugyal. (3 Kms one way). Trek through dreamy alpine meadows with the most stunning Himalayan views. If visiting in the summer season, you should definitely visit Malari Village, situated in the Dhauli Ganga valley within the Nanda Devi Biosphere reserve. It is a small and beautiful village near the Tibetan border. The area has been designated as a World Heritage Site. It is located 61 km from Joshimath. If time allows, must visit the Narsingh Temple, Shankaracharya Math & Kalpavriksha. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay. (Breakfast included)

Experiences:

Food: Today, have meals in Joshimath town or en route local dhabas. Visit famous food joints, restaurants, and cafés to elevate your experience at the hill station. Try Pahadi Dal, Lucchi, Chutney, Rice & other authentic stew-type dishes. Small tea/snack joints at Gorson Bugyal base. Lunch in Joshimath town at a family-run dhaba.

Shopping:

• Joshimath Market: wooden toys, handwoven wool products.
• Temple shops: Spiritual Souvenirs like Rudraksha beads, small idols, and paintings.
• Visit Mero Pahaad Cultural Shop (near ropeway) for authentic handicrafts, brass/copper utensils, wooden idols, shawls, and jackets. Also check Navneet Silori (Upper Bazaar) for textiles, jewelry, local spices, and organic products.

Activities:

• Gentle trek or vehicle ride to Gorson Bugyal (if seniors cannot trek, enjoy the lower meadow viewpoints).   
• Visit Narsingh Temple, Shankaracharya Math, and Kalpavriksha in Joshimath.
• Optional scenic drive to Malari Village (summer only; near the Tibet border).
• Birding Tour: Arrange a morning guide for birdwatching in the Nanda Devi reserve (Mar–Jun is best).(Optional & Chargeable)
• Spend leisure time and have a leisurely walk around Auli.
• Romantic Spot: For a quiet moment, stroll around Joshimath market bazaar at dusk or sip hot “Kumaoni” tea at a local shop watching the sunset over the valley.
• Evening: snacks & music by bonfire back in Auli.

After breakfast, proceed to drive back to Dehradun via Devprayag. En route, pay your offering and witness the holy Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. After dropping off at your destination, this tour will end with happy memories. (Breakfast included).

Food: Wrap up your Garhwali food exploration, start your day with local breads, herbal tea, and Pakodas with Garhwali Chutney for your breakfast. En route, stop at Chotiwala (Rishikesh) or Beatles Café, German Bakery for light meals.

Shopping: In Rishikesh, before reaching Dehradun, visit the famous market:

• Lakshman Jhula/Ram Jhula Markets: rudraksha malas, yoga accessories, Ayurvedic oils, handicrafts.
• Handicrafts: Jute Yoga mat, Bamboo & wooden idols, Craftworks, Spirituality, Souvenirs.
