Valley of Flowers Opens Earlier in 2025 Due to Early Snow Melt
Great news for trekkers! Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand is now open from June 1st, 2025 — 15 days earlier than usual, due to early snow clearance and favorable weather.
📍Location: Valley of Flowers, Chamoli District, Uttarakhand
🗓️ Update Date: June 1, 2025
In a recent announcement by the Uttarakhand Forest Department, the Valley of Flowers National Park has officially opened to tourists from June 1, 2025, two weeks earlier than its traditional mid-June opening. This change comes after a warmer spring and early snow melt, making trekking trails accessible sooner.
This early opening allows nature enthusiasts and trekkers a longer window to explore the valley's breathtaking alpine flora. The full bloom season is expected between July 15 to August 15, but early visitors can now witness pre-bloom landscapes, green meadows, and rare species.
Forest officials have advised travelers to:
- Register online in advance.
- Follow eco-tourism guidelines.
- Avoid camping inside the national park (still restricted).
The Hemkund Sahib route is also operational, although steep sections still require caution due to melting snow.
