How to do Chardham Yatra Registration

The Uttarakhand government has made registration compulsory for the following reasons:

• Pilgrim safety – Authorities can monitor pilgrims and provide immediate assistance if needed.

• Crowd management – Helps regulate the number of visitors and prevents overcrowding.

• Real-time alerts – Pilgrims receive weather updates, road conditions, and emergency notifications.

Without registration, entry to these holy sites is not allowed.

The registration process is available online, via WhatsApp, and offline. You can choose the method that suits you best.

Online Registration (Easiest & Recommended)

The most convenient way to register is through the official Uttarakhand tourism portal.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.

Step 2: Create an Account

Click on Register/Login and enter your mobile number, name, and password.

Step 3: Start the Registration

Once logged in, select Create/Manage Tour Info and click on Add New Tour.

Step 4: Fill in Travel Details

Enter your destinations, travel dates, and duration of the pilgrimage.

Step 5: Add Pilgrim Information

Upload ID proof, passport-size photo, and contact details for all travelers.

Step 6: Submit & Download the Registration Letter

After submission, download your Yatra Registration Letter, which contains a QR code for verification. Keep a printed or digital copy of this letter with you throughout the journey.

Pilgrims can also register through WhatsApp. The process is given below:

Step 2: Start the Registration

Send the message "Yatra" to begin the process.

Step 3: Provide Necessary Details

Follow the instructions and submit the required travel and ID details.

Step 4: Receive Your QR Code

Once verified, you will get your Yatra Registration Letter on WhatsApp.

This method is fast and hassle-free, especially for those who are not comfortable with online portals.

If you wish to make the pilgrimage via helicopter, that too requires registration. Here's the process to register for the same:

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra Helicopter Service.

Step 2: Create Account / Login

Sign up or log in to book your helicopter ride.

Step 3: Select Package

Choose your helicopter package based on stops (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath) and duration.

Step 4: Enter Details

Provide personal information, identity proof (Aadhar/passport), and medical fitness (for elderly travelers).

Step 5: Choose Travel Dates

Select preferred dates for your Yatra.

Step 6: Make Payment

Pay online via credit/debit card, net banking, etc.

Step 7: Receive Confirmation

Get booking confirmation, itinerary, and instructions via email/SMS.

Step 8: Medical Certificate

Passengers above 60 may need a fitness certificate.

Step 9: Helipad Check-in

Arrive at the helipad 1-2 hours before departure with identity proof and booking confirmation.

Pilgrims who did not register online can do so at designated registration counters.

Counters are available at major entry points:

• Haridwar – Haridwar Railway Station, Rahi Hotel

• Rishikesh – ISBT Bus Stand

• Sonprayag, Joshimath, Govind Ghat – Registration kiosks

Various checkposts are also available along the pilgrimage route

Step 2: Provide Personal Details

Submit a valid ID proof, travel details, and a passport-sized photo.

Step 3: Get the Registration Letter

Once verified, you will receive a printed Yatra Registration Letter.

Offline registration may have long queues during peak season, so online or WhatsApp registration is highly recommended

Once you reach Kedarnath, Char Dham, or Hemkund Sahib, you must verify your registration at entry points.

• Officials will scan and confirm your details.

• Without verification, you may not be allowed to proceed.
